Toshiba’s external hard disk drive STOR.E D10 allows for fast data transfers

Neuss, Germany, 2nd September 2010 – Toshiba Europe GmbH today announced a new addition to its portfolio of external hard disk drives with the elegant STOR.E D10. It is targeted at both consumers and professionals. The STOR.E D10’s large storage capacity of up to 2 Terabytes caters for the increasing need for the volume of data that needs to be stored digitally, and be safely and securely backed-up. The STOR.E D10 will be available in the third quarter 2010 throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.

For professional and private usage

The STOR.E D10, which comes in an attractive glossy black housing, achieves fast data transfer between your computer by offering two highspeed interfaces: a High Speed USB 2.0 option which provides a transfer rate up to 480 Mbps and a eSATA interface, which allows fast data transfers even via a cable connection, which is longer than 2 metres. With its large storage capacity and high transfer rate the Toshiba STOR.E D10 meets the demands of professional users in small and medium business as well as needs of home office users or families.

Easy and secure backup

Although the majority of users are familiar with the risks of losing their valuable data, which could result from virus attacks or an unexpected computer crash, they nevertheless often fail to protect their data efficiently against malware, and to regularly backup their data. To make the backup process as easy, and secure as possible, even for inexperienced users the STOR.E D10 comes with a pre-installed trial version of the backup software Nero BackItUp&Burn. The software helps to both secure data as well as automating backups. Furthermore a pre-installed trial version of the trustworthy software McAfee Internet Security Suite 2009 protects the drive from computer viruses and makes it a secure tool for everybody’s backups.

Extended Services

In addition to the guarantee, users also have the option to subscribe to a Data Recovery Service which lasts for three years. This reassures users against loss of data in case of a fatal hard disk crash: Our professional data recovery laboratory will do their utmost to get your data back. Rather than subscribing to the Data Recovery Service, another option is an ‘on demand’ service for onetime usage.
