Neuss, Germany, 25th May 2010 – Toshiba Europe GmbH today unveiled the new CAMILEO BW10 camcorder. The weather and waterproof Full HD sportcam can easily withstand snow, rain and dust. The bar type camcorder is designed for active sports people, adventure travellers and families who value a very robust camcorder with the latest technology. The CAMILEO BW10 is a trendy and slim device available in three jazzy colours: yellow, turquoise and silver. The CAMILEO BW10 will be available in the second quarter 2010 throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Maximum fun in any weather

Sporty days on a sandy beach, an exciting snorkelling trip or a racy ski-run are all worth shooting in excellent quality and the CAMILEO BW10 is most flexible device for all these occasions. The device is waterproof up to two meters and can be operated under water, in heavy rain and snow, or an environment with high levels of humidity, such as a rain forest or a greenhouse. The rubber cover also protects the camcorder from mechanical shocks, dust and sand, making the CAMILEO BW10 an ideal companion for shooting on the beach or in the desert. This small camcorder measures only 22 mm x 55 mm x 107 mm and weighs no more than 114g. It fits easily into a small pocket and is always at hand for spontaneous recording.

High quality video clips and stills

The camcorder offers Full HD resolution (1080p/30fps), embedded video stabilisation and a powerful 10x digital zoom for far-away shots. By the touch of two buttons users can easily and quickly switch between video and photo mode. The CAMILEO BW10’s integrated face detector allows users to take portraits by automatically enhancing colours and exposure of up to twelve faces in the picture. Furthermore, the maximum sensitivity of ISO 1600 enables the camcorder to record great shots, even in unfavourable ambient light conditions.

The fashionable CAMILEO BW10 displays video clips and photos stored on a SD card with a capacity of up to 64GB on a brilliant 5.1 cm (2.0“) LCD panel. To watch clips and photos together with friends on a big screen, content can be streamed to any HD display via the HDMI® Digital AV output. Users can also transfer content easily to YouTubeTM by the push of a button with the help of the bundled CAMILEO Uploader software.
